Kinky Malinki @ Turnmills July 21st

*** The Album Launch Party! ***

The Kinky vibes just keep on coming as Kinky Malinki drifts back into the summer with another stunning party. The undisputed kings of sexy, uplifting house, the monthly Turnmills flagship KM party doesn’t disappoint with another stunning triple-pronged monster of a line-up. This party also celebrates the release of Kinky Malinki which hits the shops this summer, a sublime double CD package mixed by residents Grant Richards and Mark Robinson.

In the Main Room one man who has become synonymous with top quality house music headlines, a Kinky Malinki favourite and a modern legend of house music, Jonathan Ulysses. Resident at the internationally renowned Space club in Ibiza for seemingly centuries, Jonathan has stayed at the top of his game by remaining one of the truest voices and most consistent exponents of electronic music. His sun-kissed sound has all the markings one would expect from a Balearic institution, creating sets filled with cutting edge sounds that whilst looking forward, never forget the true purpose of a DJ, to entertain the crowd. Always funky and always downright danceable, Ulysses is a KM regular, and the Turnmills crowd will no doubt welcome him back with open arms. As they will with Kiss FM maestro Simon Dale, another top quality proponent of the KM sound. Ass shaking house grooves are the order of the day when Dale is behind the decks, a glorious amalgamation of sexy basslines and sharp, accessible vocals. Their both supported by a bevy of the top soulful jocks, Smoking Groove and KM night Gladrags from Leeds and resident Joelus.

In the second theatre one of the most consistently performing artists in house music steps up… the awe-inspiring Soul Central aka Timmy Vegas and Andy Ward. Their gorgeous rework of the Rhythm is Rhythm classic Strings of Life breathed new life into one of dance music’s most enduring records, fusing its spine-tingling breakdown to a shuffling house groove. Since then they’ve become some of the most in demand producers and DJs, marrying the most blissful of house grooves to soaring breakdowns and often beautiful vocals. Their latest cut Time After Time with Abigail Bailey is set to be one of the biggest anthems of the summer! Wei-Shen makes his long awaited KM debut. This Australian super-jock is part of ace remix outfit Those Usual Suspects and comes highly recommended. Support comes from excellent resident Grant Richards and rising star Jamesy.

Kinky Malinki wouldn’t just be the same however without its fair share of surprises, and the third room once again proves that with the KM indulgence going beyond the usual once more. An awesome old school special is the order of the day here, with piano house legends and kings of the funky house sound K-Klass topping the bill! K-Klass’s seminal anthem ‘Rhythm is a Mystery’ blockaded the top five in the singles chart in 1990, becoming one of the most enduring anthems of the acid house explosion. They then went onto rock the nation’s best clubs, Cream, Ministry, Renaissance and Back to Basics, quickly becoming one of the dominant voices on the British house music scene. The word legend simply doesn’t do them justice! A similar accolade you could bestow upon Lenny Fontana, the New York City house music legend that joins them. Lenny’s sound is all that represents the good and the great of New York City, fusing the more soulful strands of garage and disco with the funkier, harder edged beats that would define the music as it evolved during the nineties. Miss White and Ross Alex off their support in what could arguably be KM’s best Turnmills line-up yet!

The ticket price will again get you into Turnmills too where KM have again raised the bar for a huge summer lineup that includes Jon Ulysses, Soul Central, Lenny Fontana and K-Klass.
