This year's show was designed to tour and we had our first experience of that last Friday, a little sooner than we had hoped, none the less we were delighted with our opening party in Amnesia.
Manumission started in a 400 capacity gay club in Manchester. Within 12 weeks it was voted the No.1 club in the U.K. by DJ magazine. It moved to KU (now Privelege) in the summer of 94 where it became the biggest weekly party in the world. Innovation kept and keeps Manumission alive. We were ready to move on and see this move as a chance to show that Manumission is a party and a spirit, not a venue.
The size of Privilege created distance between the people and the performance, Amnesia allows the crowd to enjoy the experience of performance. Immersed and surrounded by beautiful girls, character actors, magic, aerial shows, film, the avant-garde, flamenco dancers. Our aim for this year's show was always to create a much more interactive experience; the move to Amnesia has allowed us to achieve this. You could be asked to co-star in the making of a movie directed by Johnny Golden a.k.a. The Fat Producer, entertained by a 1950s sailor girl, or pulled onto the stage to experience the delights of Admiral Mercedes, the beautiful but deadly transsexual created in Lord Otterman's evil hospital, eat wedding cake, blow bubbles, wear a clown's nose. In short, anything can happen, and it probably will.
You will be made to decide if you are an evil Dominator or a resistance Rebel fighter.

Manumission: wildly interactive, glamorous, richly decorated. Filled with gorgeous girls wearing costume from the design houses Agent Provocateur and House of Harlot. Brimming with the burlesque the show feels more like a trip to the original Moulin Rouge, a fin de siecle Paris pumping to a disco beat.
