There’s never a dull day in the TDK
camp. Having already announced most of their
acts for this year’s momentous event,
the fidgety little buggers just won’t
sit still and instead keep thinking of more
ways to knock your socks off at this year’s
TDK Cross Central.
Firstly we are delighted to announce that
we are now fully immersed in the virtual
world of networking. So much so that we
have invited the phenomenon that is Myspace
to be part of our event. Having spawned
a plethora of new bands and artists as well
as creating a unique platform for musical
showcasing, we couldn’t ignore their
similarities to our brand ethos. So, for
the first time, they will be joining us
at TDK on the XFM stage and will be joining
forces with XFM to search out one new band
to play on the Sunday line up. So log on
now to www.myspace.com/crosscentral, join
our online family and if you think you deserve
to be on the billing why not make contact
through cyber space and show us what you’ve
got!
Secondly, we can confirm that the much-loved
terrace will be back – and not only
for the VIPs. With a large-scale extension
planned, Cross Central will be opening the
entire length of the terrace for all festival-goers
to enjoy. Thus increasing it 5-fold! My
Beautiful City will be in charge
of the musical output and will be bringing
with them an extra special line up for the
TDK faithful. Members of Primal
Scream, The Kills
and Death in Vegas will
all be turning their hands to the decks
to deliver what can only be described as
a riotous selection of eclectic musical
mayhem.
And whilst the DJS will be playing on the
VIP terrace, we can also confirm that these
sounds will be, for the first time, pumped
out across the entire roof terrace creating
a magical midsummer roof top experience.
Additional palm trees, bars and seating
will adorn the plush outside space so you
can sup on a cocktail and watch the sun
set over one of the most impressive urban
spaces in London. And still the acts keep
coming as both Saturday and Sunday sustain
momentum by adding even more fuel to their
individual fires. Saturday sees the inclusion
of Simian’s Mobile Disco
– another outfit pushing the Shoreditch
sound and making a highly glorious racket
in the process will be on the Saturday stage
bringing you an irresistible piece of strobe-addled
boogie. Plus Kele Okereke
from Bloc Party has confirmed
an exclusive DJ set whilst other additions
come from Tramp DJs, Headman,
Padded Cell and Brakes
(Live).
Not to be left out, Sunday’s new
offerings further consolidate the diversity
and ingenuity of this event. XFM stalwart
Dan Greenpeace will be
joining the XFM clan whilst New
Young Pony Club will be delivering
the best in new wave, electronica and indie.
Elsewhere the VIP will be overrun with music
industry legends where quite literally,
anything could happen! Watch this space
